Pump.fun’s “PUMP” Token Nears All-Time High Amid Whale Pressure

The PUMP token has seen a strong rally over the past week, surging more than 70% in the last 7 days. From its July low, it’s up roughly 260%, currently sitting just ~5.4% below its recent all-time high (ATH) of ≈ USD 0.0088.

A key driver of this rally has been Pump.fun’s aggressive buyback strategy, aimed at reducing circulating supply. Since July, the platform has spent approximately USD 94–98 million on buybacks, reportedly shrinking the circulating supply by ~6–7%.

Platform metrics are also on the rise. Pump.fun recorded daily revenues of ~USD 3.38 million, surpassing Hyperliquid in that category. Meme/coin creation and trading volume, as well as creator activity, have all increased.

However, whale activity has introduced selling pressure. One whale, previously sitting on an unrealized loss of USD 3.4 million, turned it into a profit of ~USD 3.86 million by selling 1 billion PUMP tokens for ~$8.25 million. Despite the sale, the whale still holds ~208.83 million tokens, worth ~$1.77 million at the time of reporting.

Large holder positions have declined: whale wallets reduced their holdings by ~25% over the past 7 days, while “Smart Money” wallets and public figure wallets dropped by ~48% and ~9%, respectively.

Technically, PUMP has reclaimed the ~$0.007 resistance zone as support and extended its move to ~$0.0083. If buyers can defend this new support level, a push toward ~$0.009 is possible. Otherwise, a pullback to previous support zones may occur.

Conclusion
The outlook for PUMP currently looks bullish but fragile:
– Momentum is strong, with major gains weekly and monthly.
– Buybacks are reducing supply and creating positive sentiment.
– Whale selling shows both profit realization and possible correction risks.
If PUMP can hold the $0.007–0.008 support zone, it has room to challenge the ATH again. But sharp pullbacks are likely as whales continue to offload near highs.
